childrens lights - information about the regulations affecting children's lights

The IEC regulation, EN60598-2-10: Portable Luminaires for Children, applies to lights that can be physically moved while still connected to the mains (therefore excluding fixed ceiling and wall lights).

Under these regulations, the maximum temperature of accessible parts, including the bulb if accessible, is 60 °C for metal parts and 75 °C for other parts, measured during normal operation.

Within all-lit-up.co.uk, we show the above icons next to products for children.

If you see the spinning top icon, it means that the product meets the criteria of the regulations outlined above.

If you see the teddy bear icon, it means that the product is designed specifically to appeal to children. The fact that the spinning top icon is not also shown, does not mean that the product is unsafe, but that the particular product does not fall within the above regulations.
